Everybody knows Grand Canyon but you have no idea the impression it can make on you until you physically stand in front of it!
We arrive at the Grand Canyon around 11h. We park and go out of the car. We walk to find the visitor centre and end up right in front of the canyon! Ouah! It’s there…huge… powerful…in front of us! I’m losing balance and Frederic has a tight stomach! The view is impossible to describe. It looks unreal. It’s 436kms long, 16kms wide, 2kms high!

Tout le monde connaît le Grand Canyon mais c’est impossible de savoir ce que ça peut faire de le voir jusqu’au moment où tu es physiquement devant lui!
Nous arrivons au Grand Canyon vers 11h. Nous garons et sortons de la voiture. Nous marchons pour trouver le centre d’information et nous tombons sur (et heureusement pas dans) le Grand Canyon ! After picnicking, we take the shuttle to walk the Grand Canyon down for 2 hours. We do the South Kaibab trail. We feel so small and humble with breathtaking views around…and plenty of cute squirrels!
Après avoir pique niqué, nous prenons la navette pour aller descendre le Grand Canyon à pieds pendant 2 heures. Nous faisons la rando South Kaibab et nous nous sentons si minuscules et humbles avec ses paysages de folie autour de nous...et d'adorables petits écureuils!
At the end of the trail, we go to Powell and Hopi point to see a bit of the Colorado river.
Après la rando, nous allons en voiture jusqu’à le point de vue de Powell et Hopi où nous pouvons voir la rivière du Colorado.
Thomas and Savannah are dreaming to go to McDonald since they arrive(as there is none un Gabon) and we promise them to do so for dinner. It has been at least 10 years, the last time I ate a Mc Donald fillet-o-fish.
Thomas et Savannah rêvent d’aller au McDonald depuis qu'ils sont arrivés (car il n’y en a pas au Gabon) et nous leur promettons d’y aller pour le dîner. Ca fait au moins 10 ans, la dernière fois que j’ai mangé un fillet-o-fish au Mc Donald.
To finish this beautiful day with a nice vibe we go to the IMAX where there is the most watched Imax movie about the history of Grand Canyon. The kids and us love it!
Pour finir la journée en beauté, nous allons au IMAX où il passe le film IMAX le plus regardé qui est sur l’histoire du Grand Canyon. Les enfants et nous adorons !
On our way back to the hotel, it’s snowing like mad…we could nearly feel in Alaska!
En rentrant à l’hôtel, il se met à neiger beaucoup... on se croirait presque en Alaska!
