Kingman-Hackberry-Seligman

We go to Kingman and we eat in a real diner drive in. We are back in the 50’s! It’s UNBELIEVABLE! We feel like being in the series ‘Happy Days’…Unreal! This is the paradise for the burger lovers like Savannah and Thomas!

We stop at Hackberry, at Bob Waldmire’s Old Route 66 Visitor Center , official designer of Route 66. The place is like a museum…

Nous nous arrêtons à Hackberry, au centre d’information de la veille route 66 de Bob Waldmire, dessinateur officiel de la Route 66. L’endroit est un véritable musée..

We carry on until we reach Seligman...

Nous continuons notre route jusqu'à atteindre Seligman...

We experience our first Motel at Seligman. Seligman is another amazing place with lots of character. In this village, the director of the cartoon Cars broke down and found his inspiration here. From the top of the mountain, we easily see the junction of the Interstate 40 and the Route 66. When they built the Interstate, there are less and less people using Route 66 and villages such as Seligman and Peach Spring become nearly deserted. By the way, in the movie, the heroes leave the Interstate to go to Route 66 and arrive at Radiator Spring inspired by Peach Spring!
In Seligman, we see the red tow truck used for one of the heroes. The owner allows Savannah and Thomas to go in.
In this village, we also met a Japanese who lives in California for 13 years and selling Route 66 souvenirs to the local shops.

Nous expérimentons un Motel à Seligman, pour la première fois. Seligman est un autre endroit fantastique avec beaucoup de caractère. Dans ce village, le directeur du dessin animé Cars est tombé en panne et a trouvé son inspiration ici. Du haut de la montagne, nous pouvons facilement voir la jonction de l’autoroute 40 et de la Route 66. Quand ils ont construit l’autoroute, de moins en moins de personnes ont utilisé la Route 66 et les villages comme Seligman et Peach Spring furent délaissés. A ce propos, dans le film, les héros quittent l’autoroute pour aller sur la Route 66 et arrivent à Radiator Spring inspiré de Peach Spring!

A Seligman, nous voyons la voiture de dépannage rouge utilisée par une des héros. Le propriétaire autorise Savannah et Thomas à entrer dedans.

Dans ce village, nous rencontrons aussi un Japonais qui vit en Californie depuis 13 ans et vend des souvenirs de la Route 66 dans les magasins locaux.

On the evening, we go to another typical diner drive-in.

Pour le dîner, nous allons dans un drive-inn typique.

We also take advantage to be in this village to go to a laudromat.

Nous en profitons aussi pour aller laver notre linge.
