The shuttle from the North Shore inn backpacker (http://northshorehostel.com backpacker where Frederic worked for 1 year 17 years ago!!!) should arrive soon...but no stress, the waiting time is very pleasant under the late afternoon sun.
La navette de l'auberge doit arriver d'un moment à l'autre (http://northshorehostel.com/... auberge où Frédéric a travaillé pendant 1 an il y a 17 ans!!!)...mais pas de soucis, l'attente est plaisante sous le soleil de fin d'après-midi.
After being inactive during our flight, now action! Shorts, hiking boots and let's go to Iao Valley (14 kms in total). The walk to go there is nice...we stopped,on the way, at a fruit stand, to get fresh fruits and a banana cake.
Après avoir été inactif pendant notre vol, maintenant action! Shorts, chaussures de rando et c'est parti pour une bonne ballade de 14kms pour aller voir la Vallée d'Iao. La promenade est agréable… nous nous arrêtons en chemin, à un stand de fruit, pour se ravitallier en fruits frais et gâteau à la banane.
Kepaniwai Park's Heritage Gardens
The higher we go the denser the flore is...
First we arrive at Kepaniwai Park's Heritage Gardens which memorializes the multicultural history of Maui. Each immigrant population of Hawaii is represented in this beautiful garden: American missionaries, Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese, Korean, and Filipinos. Very interesting!
Plus nous montons, plus la flore est dense…
D'abord nous arrivons au Parc de Kepaniwai qui rappele l'histoire multiculturelle de Maui. Chaque population immigrée d'Hawaï est représentée dans ce beau jardin : missionnaires Américains, Chinois, Japonais, Portugais, Coréen, et Philippins. Très intéressant !

Īao Valley in hawaiian means "the valley of the cloud supreme" which refers to the humidity and so to the luxuriant nature.
