This is a quiet village which was commercially busy before the eruption in 1902 of the volcano Mount Pelée. The natural disaster killed the entire population of the town- over 30 000 people.

Nous passons un bon moment à se ballader dans les rues étroites et goûter à une averse tropicale...

There is an excellent bakery which sells divine pastries: we have to stop!
Il y a une excellente pâtisserie qui vend des petites tartes etautres délices: un arrêt s'impose!
We go to the beach for the sun down to have a drink at the bar...feet in the sand! We are the only customers...There is loud music playing and when the sun is down, we have a special moment all together...we dance alone on the beach! Amazing!
Nous arrivons à la plage pour le coucher du soleil pour boire un verre au bar...les pieds dans le sable! Nous sommes les seuls clients...Il y a de la musique, le soleil se laisse glisser dans l'horizon et nous dansons, seuls, tous les quatres sur la plage! Génial!
La Montagne Pelée
Let's go to the top of the volcano Mount Pelée which is now dormant ut before nothing better than a greta lunch at the resaurant la Chaudière (http://www.restaurant-lachaudiere.com/) before hiking!
It takes 2 hours to go to the top and the hike is very pleasant along the way. We've been told that we have to stay on the path because the flore is very dense and you don't necessarily notice that below your feet there is nothing and you might fall! It's raining, the rocks are slippery, we walk slowly but not as slowly as the sweet snails who are out!
En route pour le haut de la Montagne Pelée qui est maintenant dormant mais avant rien de tel qu'un très bon déjeuner au restaurant la Chaudière (www.restaurant-lachaudiere.com) avant d'y aller!
2 heures sont nécessaires pour aler jusqu'en haut et la randonnée est très agréable tout le long. On nous a prévenu qu'on doit rester sur le chnatier car la végétation étant tellement dense, on pense marcher sur du 'dur' alors que sous les pieds c'est le vide! Il pleut, les roches sont glissantes, nous marchons doucement mais aussi doucement que les mignons escargots qui sont de sortie!
